Living in Jonestown, TX: A Local Realtor's Honest Take
Jonestown is a small lake town on the north shore of Lake Travis, and it's the kind of place where the city park has three boat ramps. That tells you most of what you need to know about weekend plans here.
It's quieter than a lot of Austin suburbs, with oak trees, hilly streets and a local group dedicated to keeping the night sky dark enough to see the stars. Here's what it's actually like to live here.
Jonestown Homes and Schools
Jonestown's homes are spread across the hills above Lake Travis. You'll find older lake-area homes, newer construction, homes with lake or Hill Country views, and some properties with easier water access than others. Streets can be steep and winding, so it's worth driving the route to a home before you fall for it.
Most of Jonestown is served by Leander ISD, but some lakeside areas are in Lago Vista ISD. School zones go by address, not by city name. I'll help you check the assigned campuses for any home we look at, and you can compare ratings yourself on TXSchools.gov.
