Living in Liberty Hill, TX: A Local Realtor's Honest Take
Liberty Hill is a small town with a surprising claim to fame: an international sculpture park. In 1976, 25 sculptors from six countries came to Liberty Hill, stayed in residents' homes and spent two months carving monuments. Those sculptures are still here. So if you've ever wanted to live in a town where world-class art sits next to a Texas BBQ joint, this is your place.
Liberty Hill sits northwest of Austin and has grown fast, with new neighborhoods popping up across what used to be ranch land. Here's what it's actually like to live here.
Liberty Hill Neighborhoods and Schools
There are really two sides to Liberty Hill. There's the small historic downtown, with local shops and restaurants. And there are the big master-planned communities, like Santa Rita Ranch and Larkspur, with amenity centers, pools and trails. Out in the surrounding area, you'll also find homes on acreage with Hill Country views.
Liberty Hill ISD is growing fast and building new campuses to keep up. Here's a fun twist: some neighborhoods with a Georgetown address, like Rancho Sienna, are actually in Liberty Hill ISD. School zones go by address, not by city name, and boundaries can shift as new schools open. I'll help you check the assigned campuses for any home we look at, and you can compare ratings yourself on TXSchools.gov.

The Liberty Hill Sculpture Festival
Liberty Hill's signature tradition is the Sculpture Festival, held every October at the Sculpture Park in Lions Foundation Park. It celebrates the 1976 symposium with live sculpting demos in stone, wood, metal, glass, sand and ice, plus live music, a vendor market, food trucks, a kids' zone and a 1K fun run. Raffle tickets give you a chance to win one of the sculptures made during the festival, and the money goes toward restoring the park. Admission to the activities is free.
