Living in Pflugerville, TX: A Local Realtor's Honest Take

First things first: it's pronounced "FLOO-ger-ville." The P is silent. The town, however, is not. Pflugerville leans into that P so hard that its festivals have "pfood," "pfun" and a "Pfun Run." Once you start noticing it, you can't stop.

Pflugerville sits northeast of Austin, right where I-35, SH 130 and SH 45 come together. You get a lake with a beach, a waterpark, easy highway access and a 50-year-old German festival. Here's what it's actually like to live here.

Pflugerville Neighborhoods and Schools

Pflugerville has a lot of master-planned communities, so you'll see names like Falcon Pointe, Blackhawk and Avalon come up often, along with plenty of smaller neighborhoods closer to the older part of town around Pfluger Park and Railroad Avenue. Many newer neighborhoods come with pools, trails and an HOA, so it's worth comparing amenities and dues side by side.

Schools are a big reason buyers look here. Much of Pflugerville is in Pflugerville ISD, but the edges of town can fall into Round Rock ISD or Manor ISD. School zones go by address, not by city name. I'll help you check the assigned campuses for any home we look at, and you can compare ratings yourself on TXSchools.gov.
